Our first trip to Turkey exceeded our expectations thanks to True Blue. The communication from Serkan was outstanding - he answered the many questions I had and armed with those answers we booked the trip. We think capping the tour at 20 was the right size. The historic aspect of Following in the Footsteps of Alexander the Great and partnering with Dr Garrett Ryan was brilliant. We got to see some less trafficked historic sites which was enjoyable. Dr Ryan was a font of knowledge and shared that knowledge in a way that was approachable for those who weren’t as familiar with the time period. Our guide Alp was outstanding. He was a great communicator, translator if needed, clearly did his homework with regard to the sites we were visiting, and he handled all the logistics without missing a beat. He gave a range of food options for the nights we were free to wander and set the bar high for professionalism. In other words, he was a tour group wrangler extraordinaire! I wanted to give a shout out to Omer our driver as well. What a professional! Some of the sites were not easy to get to and Omer got us there safely. He kept the bus stocked with cold water which was most appreciated. The rest stop locations were also good choices with clean toilets and good snack/drinks options. The accommodations overall were fine. All 4 star with the Bodrum stay in the middle being a welcome breather in a five star resort. I will say that the location of the Istanbul hotel was fantastic as was our hotel in Canakkale. The Kudasai hotel was a bit far from town so the inclusion of dinner made sense. It was a tad cramped in Fethiye and the group shared stories of shower adventures although the location was excellent. The location of our Kas hotel was a bit out but having Omer drop us off in town for dinner and shopping in the evening was super appreciated. The last thing I will mention is that our food options were excellent. My family has two members with food allergies and Alp spoke with the staff to ensure we were safe. Experiencing Turkish food, beer, wine, coffee and tea was one of the best aspects although we all agreed we will leave the turnip juice to Omer! Highly recommend True Blue and Alp as a huge for anyone looking to travel to Turkey.

The trip was great! Everything was extremely well organized and there were no distractions. The touring, hotel, and transport experience were extremely smooth. Alp was a fantastic and very knowledgeable guide, and the True Blue Team provided a great experience.

A very enjoyable trip, exceeding our expectations in every aspect. Even though it was as busy schedule we had a very relaxing time and enjoyed every minute. Alps, our guide, handled everything, leaving us to enjoy it all. Thank you.

It was an excellent tour overall. Alp did a really excellent job – he was well organized, very helpful to his clients, and well informed about the ancient and modern history of Turkey. A first class tour guide!
